A Brief Description of the Eagle Ambassador Program:
The SJNY Eagle Ambassador program offers students a paid position that reports directly to the Office of Admissions. Our Eagle Ambassadors assist the Office of Admissions in providing visiting guests with a memorable campus visit experience by sharing information about the University as well as information about their own experience. Ambassadors help interested prospective students decide if St. Joseph’s University, New York is the right “fit.”
New members to the Eagle Ambassador program will be trained and individual responsibilities will grow as the student progresses through the program. Ambassadors are expected to reach an acceptable level of competencies and maintain good punctuality & attendance.
Details of an Eagle Ambassador Position:
This is a paid position. The amount of hours worked in a given week may vary depending on the student’s personal and academic schedule, as well as the needs of The Office of Admissions.
Eagle Ambassadors will be trained and scheduled to give campus tours for individuals, small and large groups, as well as during formal Admissions events. Formal Admissions events (such as Open Houses, Admitted Student Days and Information Sessions) often take place on weekends or in the evenings during the week. These formal events are mandatory to attend for Eagle Ambassadors.
Additionally, Eagle Ambassadors will perform basic office functions as needed including, but not limited to, data input, preparing informational packets, making/answering phone calls, assisting with text campaigns, covering the reception desk area, copying, preparing mailings, and assisting with inventory management.
All Eagle Ambassadors MUST attend the following events during the academic year:
- Fall Open House - Sunday, October 26, 2025
- Spring Admitted Student Day - Saturday, March 28, 2026
*Please note: you will receive adequate notice for any additional events such as Graduate Open House, Evening Admitted Student Reception, Saturday Information Sessions, etc.
Eagle Ambassadors are able to:
- Be punctual and courteous
- Communicate clearly and effectively in public settings
- Interact comfortably and confidently with visiting guests
- Provide guests with accurate information about our campus
- Keep track of their tour route pace and be sensitive to the guest’s visiting schedule and special needs
- Share why they decided to attend St. Joseph’s University and how their student experience has been thus far
- Positively represent The Office of Admissions and St. Joseph’s University, New York!
